Developer Portal Case Study: Elixa Clearing
(Work is protected by NDA, sensitive information has been changed, redacted, and/or removed)
Problem to solve: Create a great developer portal
Why: Prevent attrition and attract prospective customers
Information for developers published haphazardly on a GitHub page leaving users confused, frustrated, and unsure of the client's API products. Key stakeholders need a website created fast that is accessible and leaves users with a positive experience.
User surveys and in-depth interviews were conducted across the client's company to understand who was accessing this information, discover the everyday issues, pain-points, and what users needed from this information. The insights gained from these interviews and surveys were analyzed and compiled into these 6 personas and user journeys:
These personas and user journeys informed the preliminary set of wireframes, which were created, presented, and reworked. Throughout this iterative process, I developed multiple wireframe designs related to hero, homepage, features, and varying versions of navigation design all with end-users' frustrations, motivations, and pain points in mind. Each wireframe was then presented to key stakeholders and tested for clarity and ease of use with users.
These preliminary designs were then developed upon to produce prototypes for their API overview guide, homepage, and overview of reference docs for API's that are available on the developer portal, which was then presented and tested.

Redesign: Peachly Development Program
(Work is protected by NDA, sensitive information has been changed, redacted, and/or removed)
Peachly is an alternative education platform that attracts a niche student body who want to engage with like-minded individuals in a non-traditional classroom setting. They are launching a new program, Peachly Development Program (PDP), devoted to allowing users access a general overview of the courses they produced.
Problem to solve: Create an engaging landing page
Why: Attract prospective students

Through coordination with the CEO and UX lead, user surveys and interviews were conducted to discover who is interested in PDP, the pain-points of alternative education programs, and motivations for signing up for this program. The insights gained from these interviews and surveys were analyzed and compiled into these 3 personas:
Peachly Development Program attracts a student body that is overall younger, more progressive, and are informed on latest design and technical trends. They are interested in learning, connection, but also in professional networking. They need to be convinced that PDP will satisfy these needs in order to sign up for this program. Through analysis of the research, it was recommenced that a redesign of the current PDP landing page was necessary and project stakeholders were motivated to fund the redesign.
